Blending post-punk drama, heavy drum beats and infectious vocal melodies, Lakookala is a Los Angeles based artist whose avant-punk style exceeds genres. With only a handful of self-produced, self-released tracks—Lakookala has drawn comparisons to luminaries such as Corin Tucker, PJ Harvey, Velvet Underground and Siouxsie Sioux.
In March 2017 Lakookala will digitally release “LOST EP”, which features her single “FFU” + 2 songs that were delayed when her music equipment was stolen in a robbery following the “FFU” release tour. “LOST EP” will also include remixes, as well as a never before seen music video for “FFU”. Currently, Lakookala is in the studio finishing up 5 new songs which will be released later this year.
In addition to being an artist, Lakookala is an active participant of the growing LA music scene as a recording studio manager, an assistant engineer, and a volunteer drum instructor for Rock and Roll Camp for Girls in Los Angeles.
Lakookala is the sole concept artist of all works including music production, album designs, music videos and more.
